What did Paul say he did instead of going up to Jerusalem to see the twelve?
Paul states that rather than going up to Jerusalem to see the twelve apostles who were before him, he went into Arabia. He did not check in with them, because God had revealed to him a distinct Gospel and doctrine, disassociating him from the twelve.
Les explains that in Galatians 1:12a Paul says he did not go up to Jerusalem to check in with the twelve, those who were apostles before him, but went into Arabia. Les stresses that Paul disassociated himself from the twelve regarding their doctrines and their Gospel, because God had revealed to him something no one else had heard. God kept it secret until He was ready to reveal it; the twelve could not comprehend it, but Paul did. Later God designates Paul as the apostle of the Gentiles, whereas the twelve were apostles of Israel.
For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
