Les Feldick Bible Study

What example does Les give of someone who came to salvation by reading the Bible alone?

A gentleman who later became highly educated and an author became snowbound one winter at about nineteen in northern Canada. In a little hut with nothing to read except the Bible, he spent the winter isolated, reading Scripture, and came to a knowledge of salvation.

Les explains that over the years he has been aware of only one or two people who claimed to have come to a knowledge of the plan of salvation by themselves, simply by reading the Bible. One was a gentleman who later became highly educated and an author. In one of his books, he explained that he had become snowbound one winter when he was about nineteen in northern Canada. In that little hut, with nothing to do but keep his fire going and have something to eat, and nothing to read except the Bible, he came through that isolated winter reading the Scriptures and came to a knowledge of salvation. Les adds that this is one of only a few such cases he has ever read of; otherwise, it always takes a human instrument to lead someone to a knowledge of salvation, as Philip was the human instrument.
