Les Feldick Bible Study

How do religionists always deal with their enemies according to Les?

Religionists always hate the truth and have only one way to deal with their enemies: kill them and get rid of them. That is what religion does. The book never uses the term religion in a good way, treating it as a bad word.

Les explains that in Acts 5, when the religious leaders heard Peter and the eleven proclaiming the truth, they were cut to the heart. Even though the Spirit was working on these religious leaders in Israel, they responded according to religion: religionists always hate the truth, and their only way to deal with enemies is to kill them and get rid of them. So they sought to slay the apostles. Les says this may shock people, but the book never uses the term religion in a good way; it is a bad word, as with Paul's mention of profiting in the Jews' religion. Gamaliel, a Pharisee and doctor of the law who had taught Paul earlier, stood up and told the men of Israel to take heed what they intended to do to these men.
