What is the difference between Peter's gospel and Paul's gospel about salvation?

Peter's gospel called for repentance and baptism for life everlasting, as at Pentecost. Paul's gospel calls for believing the gospel—believing on Him for life everlasting—without repent and be baptized. Paul's pattern is for those hereafter believing on Him, patterned after his Damascus road salvation.

Les teaches that the contrast is deliberate and for comparison, not to put down any other group. He points out that Peter said repent and be baptized for life everlasting, but Paul does not say repent and be baptized. Instead, Paul says believe the gospel, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on Him to life everlasting. Les explains that Paul, by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, is laying out that at the salvation experience on the road to Damascus, God saved the chief of sinners—the leader of sinners—and that everyone now coming into the body of Christ is patterned after Him and will follow Him. Les also notes that the Bible does not call people Christians until Gentiles at Antioch, and he does not call someone a heretic if they disagree and still adhere to the Jews at Pentecost as being Christians.
