How many chapters of Acts are given to Paul?

Seventeen of the twenty-eight chapters of Acts are devoted to Paul, the apostle not one of the original twelve and not converted until after Pentecost. This disproportionate focus highlights a deep reason and the unique relation Gentiles have to Paul rather than the other apostles.

Les reads from William R. Newell's book, Paul vs. Peter, page 10, where Newell asks why 17 of the 28 chapters of Acts should be given to that apostle who was not one of the original 12 and was not converted until long after Pentecost. Les uses this quotation to settle folks who think he makes too much of Paul and separates Peter and Paul, because to him that separation is the only way to understand Scripture. Newell was a famous Bible teacher in the Chicago, St. Louis, and Detroit area in the 1920s and 1930s. The reason, Newell suggests, is that Gentiles have a relation to Paul that they do not have to the other apostles, and until those two ministries are separated, Christendom remains in confusion.
