What happened to the human race after the flood that divided it into races?
After the flood, the human race began dividing into three races through Noah’s three sons: Ham, Shem, and Japheth. Before this, from Adam until Abraham, God dealt with one race of people; now the descendants of Ham, Shem, and Japheth formed the three racial divisions.
Les teaches that from Adam until Abraham, God dealt with one race of people. During that first 2,000 years there was no organized system of worship, no temple, and no written law; it was based on man’s conscience, and if they knew they had sinned, they were to bring a blood sacrifice by faith. Then, with the advent of Noah and his three sons, Ham, Shem, and Japheth, the human race begins to split into three races: those coming out of Ham, those coming out of Shem, and those coming out of Japheth. The context also places approximately 200 years between the flood and the Tower of Babel, and another approximate 200 years from the Tower of Babel to the call of Abraham.
