When Jesus went up to glory, what did the Holy Spirit come down to do?

When Jesus went up to glory, the Holy Spirit came down to continue dealing especially with the nation of Israel. This was a transition of power. The exalted Christ was made Prince and Savior to give repentance to Israel. Thus the Spirit continued the divine work toward Israel after Jesus' ascension.

Les explains that the Lord Jesus goes up to glory, and the Holy Spirit comes down to continue dealing especially with the nation of Israel. He calls this a transition of power. Later, in chapter 5, verse 31, the God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom they slew and hanged on a tree; God exalted Him with His right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel. This shows the ascended Christ and the Spirit's continued dealings with Israel.

Acts 5:30

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

Acts 5:31

Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
