What were Peter and the eleven still associated with in the early part of Acts?
In the early chapters of Acts, Peter and the eleven were still associated with the Judaism that Christ dealt with and that John the Baptist preached. They continued with the Kingdom of Heaven message, calling for repentance and baptism, rather than the later revelation of the Church, the Body of Christ.
Les explains that in Acts chapter 3, Peter and John did not yet have any knowledge of the Church, which is the Body of Christ. Instead, they remained associated with the Judaism that Christ dealt with and that John the Baptist preached—the Kingdom of Heaven message of repentance and baptism. This same association still characterized Peter and the eleven men in the early part of Acts. It stands in contrast to the mystery Paul writes about, which was hid from ages and generations but now is manifest to His saints.
