Why is the book of Acts exciting to study?
The book of Acts is exciting because it clearly records the transition from Israel and Peter's ministry to the Gentiles coming into God's favor under grace, including Saul's conversion and Peter's visit to Cornelius, making the unfolding of God's program obvious to the student.
Les explains that the first part of Acts is nothing but Peter and the nation of Israel, still appealing on the basis of Old Testament prophecy. Then a departure occurs: Saul is converted, and in chapter 10 Peter goes to the house of a Gentile, Cornelius. This marks Israel going off the scene and the Gentiles coming into God's favor under the whole system of grace. Once you see that transition, the book of Acts is so exciting to study because it is just so obvious what is happening.
