Why does the devil pull out all the stops when his time is short?

The devil's time is short—only three and a half years remain—so he intensifies his activity, pulling out all the stops. One major tactic is confusing the Scriptures, which has produced many disagreeing denominations and conflicting interpretations, leaving people to search the Book for truth.

Les teaches that the devil knows he only has about three and a half years left. Because he realizes he does not have much time, he is certainly pulling out all the stops. One major tactic is confusion of the Scriptures. Les points to the resulting chaos: over a thousand denominations in America alone, with none agreeing with the other. Groups and individuals say conflicting things, leaving people asking who to believe. The only remedy is to get into the Book. Les insists he does not want a following or for people to go by what he says; he wants them to see what the Word really says. In that light he turns to Acts 1:8, where believers are promised power after the Holy Spirit comes upon them and are to be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the earth.
