What was God's secret plan that no one had comprehended?
God's hidden plan, kept secret in His own mind and uncomprehended by others, was to turn directly to the Gentiles without Israel. Rather than reaching pagan nations through Israel as the Old Testament program intended, He would go to Gentiles apart from Israel and give them knowledge of Himself.
Les teaches that when Israel was rejecting everything and continuing to reject it, God did something that had been kept secret in the mind of God and no one had comprehended: He would turn to the Gentile without Israel. The whole Old Testament program was that God would go to the pagan, heathen Gentiles through Israel. That was why God called Israel out, set them apart, and made them His covenant people—so they could one day go back into those pagan Gentiles and give them the knowledge of their Jehovah God. Les then points to Isaiah 42, where the Servant, Christ the Messiah of Israel, shall bring forth judgment or rule through the Gentiles, and also Isaiah 49.
