Why is the morning star significant?

The morning star is significant because it shines brightest in the heavens just before the dawn of a new day. In Revelation 22:16, Jesus identifies Himself as the bright morning star, signaling that human history's 6,000 years of darkness under the curse is ending and the eternal day is dawning.

Les explains that the morning star shines the brightest in the heavens just before the dawn of the New Day. He ties the 8th I AM with the 7th, noting that the number 8 in Scripture indicates new beginnings. After the 7 I AM's of John's Gospel have accomplished what they were given for, we enter the eternal state in Revelation chapter 22. In Revelation 22:16, Jesus says, "I AM the root, the offspring of David, the bright morning star." What is being shown is that Christ rightfully claims all of human history—the darkness of it, the 6,000 years of darkness while man has been existing under the curse—is now about to end. The dawning of the new day, the eternal day, is coming, and He is the bright morning star, or the 8th I AM in the New Testament.
