What happened when the net was cast at the Lord's command in Luke 4?

At the Lord's command in Luke 4, the net broke and all the fish got away. This contrasted with the later catch of 153 great fishes and pictured Israel's history: nothing really jelled for them, and they never enjoyed all the promises God had given.

Les explains that the later catch of 153 great fishes was full of full-grown large fish, not little offspring, and the net did not break; not a single fish was lost. He sees the numbering as showing that not one single Jew will miss the end gathering for the Kingdom. By contrast, when they cast the net at the Lord's command in Luke 4, the net broke and the fish all got away. Les says that was indicative of Israel's history: nothing really jelled for them, and they never enjoyed all the promises God had given.
