How does the Gospel of John differ from the Synoptics in showing Christ?

The Synoptic Gospels—Matthew, Mark, and Luke—predominantly depict Christ's humanity as King, Servant, and Son of Man. John is set apart and presents Christ as God. Consequently, in John He does not pray to the Father as in the Synoptics; as God, He simply speaks to Him.

Les explains that John is the fourth Gospel, set apart from the three Synoptics. Matthew depicts Christ as King, Mark as Servant, and Luke as Son of Man, so those Gospels predominantly emphasize His humanity. By contrast, John presents Christ as God. Les points out a specific evidence: in the Synoptics Christ prays to the Father, but in John the Greek does not have Him praying; as God, He simply spoke to the Father. This distinction highlights John's unique revelation of Christ's deity.
