What is Christ to those who are called, whether Jews or Greeks?
Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God for the called, both Jews and Greeks. Paul contrasts this with the Jews requiring a sign and the Greeks seeking wisdom, but for those called, Christ crucified is God's power and God's wisdom.
Les teaches that the Jews require a sign and the Greeks seek after wisdom, but Paul says we are not going to bother ourselves with either one. We are not to look for signs or a new philosophy. Instead, the preaching of the cross is foolishness to those who perish, but to those who are saved it is the power of God. For the called, Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
