When were Old Testament believers' sins actually atoned for?

Old Testament believers’ sins were not actually atoned for by animal sacrifices; that blood only covered them. They were atoned for after the cross, after the supreme sacrifice and divine blood were shed, when God took paradise up into heaven.

Les teaches that Old Testament believers could not enter glory when they died because their sins were not atoned for, only covered. The blood of animals could not take away sin. The Hebrew word Kephar meant to cover, as when something is covered with bitumen, so the Day of Atonement was a covering, not a removal of Israel’s sin. David said, “Blessed is the man whose sins are covered,” but they were not done away with. They were waiting for the true atoning work of the cross. After the cross, after the supreme sacrifice and divine blood had been shed, their sins were atoned for, and then God took paradise up into heaven.
