Whose blood is it that brings redemption and forgiveness in Colossians 1:14-15?

Colossians 1:14-15 identifies the redeeming blood as Christ's own blood. It says redemption comes through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins, and then identifies this Christ as the image of the invisible God. So the blood that brings redemption and forgiveness is the blood of Christ, God's visible image.

Les explains that Colossians 1:14 says redemption is through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins. Verse 15 then shows whose blood this really is: the Christ who is the image, or visible appearance, of the invisible God. Les reads on that this Christ is the firstborn of every creature, for by Him were all things created in heaven, in earth, visible and invisible. Les then connects this to 1 Peter 1:18-19, where Peter writes that believers were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from their vain conversation received by tradition from the fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. That precious blood is the only thing that can pay our sin debt, and Les says it takes us back to Exodus 12.
