Why did the Jewish leaders and Romans seal Jesus' tomb?
The Jewish leaders and Romans sealed the sepulcher because they remembered Jesus had said that after three days He would rise from the dead. Their action came out of frustration, and they made sure the tomb was sealed in response to His predicted resurrection.
Les explains that resurrection began with Christ's own resurrection, unlike earlier cases such as Elijah's or the widow's son or Lazarus, which were merely a bringing back to life only to die again. At the end of the lesson, he points to the frustration of the Jewish leaders and the Romans. They remembered that Jesus had said after three days He would rise from the dead, so they were going to make sure the sepulcher would be sealed.
