Why does John's Gospel not record Jesus' agony in the Garden of Gethsemane?

John's Gospel emphasizes Christ's deity, while Matthew, Mark, and Luke—the synoptic Gospels—focus primarily on His humanity. The Garden agony belonged to His human suffering, so it appears in all three synoptics but is omitted from John, which highlights His divine nature instead.

Les explains that Matthew, Mark, and Luke are called the synoptic Gospels, and they deal primarily with Jesus' humanity side. John's Gospel, by contrast, deals with His deity. Because of that distinction, many things covered in the synoptic Gospels are not mentioned in John. The temptations, for example, are recorded in Matthew, Mark, and Luke, but not in John. Likewise, Jesus' agony in the Garden of Gethsemane—the agony of it—is recorded in all three synoptic Gospels, but it is not recorded in John's Gospel because that was part of His humanity, of His suffering.
