What does the new song in Revelation 5 say about those whom Christ redeemed?

The new song declares Christ worthy because He was slain and redeemed them to God by His blood out of every kindred, tongue, people, and nation. It says He made them kings and priests unto God, and they shall reign on the earth.

Les explains that John wept because no one in heaven or earth was found worthy to open the book, but an elder told him to weep not: the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, had prevailed. Les identifies this as the Lamb, the Christ, the Son God sent forth. Because of what He accomplished at Calvary, He qualified and took the scroll from the right hand of the One on the throne. The heavenly host then sang a new song, saying the Son was worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, for He was slain and redeemed them to God by His blood out of every kindred, tongue, people, and nation, making them kings and priests to God, and they shall reign on the earth. Les connects this to Christ taking the mortgage and agreeing to pay it off to lift the curse, and to Israel's redemption laws requiring a capable, willing next of kin.
