Les Feldick Bible Study

How does Les describe the Old Testament from Abraham onward?

From Abraham through the Old Testament, everything is prophetic. Everything is saying what will happen, what will happen. That is prophecy, and it points forward to future events that Jesus later discusses. It is all prophecy, not just isolated predictions.

Les explains that he has always connected everything, beginning almost with Abraham and all the way up through the Old Testament. He says everything is prophetic, everything is saying what will happen, what will happen—that is prophecy. In chapter 24, this is exactly what Jesus is going to talk about: the things that are going to happen at some point in the future. He notes that as Jesus left the temple and went to the Mount of Olives, the disciples pointed to the temple buildings. Jesus then prophesied that not one stone would be left upon another, which Les connects to the Roman destruction, when the temple was dismantled rock by rock and stone by stone, unlike Nebuchadnezzar's destruction by fire.
