What is the one Gospel Paul preached?
Paul knows only one Gospel: Christ died, was buried, and rose from the dead. By this Gospel the Gentiles become fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ—not by the law and not by works, but by the Gospel.
Les teaches that Paul only knows one Gospel: Christ died, was buried, and rose from the dead. That same Gospel is described in verse six, where his ministry makes Gentiles fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ—not by the law, not by works, but by the Gospel. Les then contrasts this with the Kingdom: the crucified King, after burial and resurrection, went to Heaven, so the Kingdom is now in Heaven where the King is. Yet Paul never alludes to Christ as King of the Church; believers are joint heirs with Him and part of Him—He is the Head, and we are the Body. That is a far different relationship than subjects under a king.
