Les Feldick Bible Study

What pattern does every biblical genealogy follow according to Les?

Every biblical genealogy, whether Old Testament or New, begins with the natural and then moves to the spiritual. The natural comes first and is unspiritual; afterward comes the spiritual. This order reflects the first man Adam as earthy and the second man, the Lord from heaven.

Les teaches that every genealogy you can read, whether in the Old Testament or the New, always begins with the natural and then the genealogy of the spiritual. Paul makes this same point: that which was not first is the spiritual, but that which is natural comes first, and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man, Adam, is of the earth and earthy, made from the dust, while the second man is the Lord from heaven. Adam is the federal head of the human race, and because Adam fell, Christ is the response and the one who would restore. Les also offers a personal thought, saying he cannot prove it from Scripture but likes to think that Adam before he sinned had a body identical to Christ's in His earthly appearance, since Adam was incorruptible and could have lived forever had he not fallen.
