Besides Malachi, which Old Testament prophet spoke about John the Baptist?
The Old Testament prophet Isaiah also spoke of John the Baptist, as Scripture records. Isaiah foretold the voice crying in the wilderness, 'Prepare ye the way of the Lord, and make his paths straight,' identifying John's preparatory ministry before the Lord.
Les explains that it was not only Malachi who predicted John the Baptist; Isaiah also speaks of him. The text says John is the one spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, who wrote of 'the voice of one crying in the wilderness. Prepare ye the way of the Lord, and make his paths straight.' Les had taken the class back to Malachi, but then points out that Isaiah likewise prophesied of John's role in preparing the way for the Lord.
