How many distinct I Am statements are in the Old Testament regarding God and Israel?

The Old Testament contains seven distinct I Am statements regarding God and the nation of Israel. These are uses of the name Jehovah, including Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Sid Canu, Jehovah Rehah, and Jehovah Shalom. They are distinct Old Testament uses of the divine name.

Les teaches that there are seven distinct I Am's in the Old Testament with regard to God and the nation of Israel. He recalls the first as when Abraham was about to offer Isaac; a ram caught in the thicket was sacrificed, and Abraham named the place Jehovah Jireh, meaning "I Am your Provider." He also cites Jehovah Sid Canu, meaning "I Am the Righteousness"; Psalm 23:1, where Lord is Jehovah, rendered Jehovah Rehah, meaning "I Am your Shepherd"; and Gideon after his battle with the three hundred using Jehovah Shalom, meaning peace. Les notes there are seven such uses of the name Jehovah. Then in John there are again seven I Am's, and Revelation gives what he calls the Eighth I Am.
