What is the opening event of the final seven years in Revelation?

The opening event is the appearance of the Antichrist, who signs a seven-year treaty with Israel. This final seven-year period, called Daniel’s seventieth week, resumes God’s prophetic 490-year program for Israel after the church age, and Revelation unfolds these final events.

Les explains that once the Body of Christ is finished and the last one has been brought in, those alive and remaining will be changed into their glorified bodies, and those who died in Christ will be resurrected. Then God picks up where He left off with Israel, beginning Daniel’s seventieth week—the final seven years of Israel’s original 490-year prophecy from Daniel 9. Only 483 years were fulfilled by Christ’s crucifixion, leaving seven unfulfilled. Because the church age has been sandwiched between the 483 years and the church’s removal, God can now bring about that final seven-year period. Revelation unfolds this time of God’s dealing with the human race generally, but particularly with Israel. The opening event is the appearance of the Antichrist, who signs a seven-year treaty with Israel. Les also notes confusion over the treaty signed between Israel and the Palestinians, with some thinking it is the peace treaty.
