Where is the lake of fire located?

Scripture does not reveal the exact location of the lake of fire; it must be somewhere far out in space. Some see black holes as a possible parallel because they involve intense darkness, heat, and a sensation of constantly falling. The lake of fire itself is eternal and without end.

Les explains that death and hell are cast into the lake of fire, which is the second death, and that whoever is not found written in the book of life is cast into it. He notes that some dislike preaching this and try to explain it away, but the book still says it, and God's love at the cross does not remove the eternal doom of the lost person. When asking where the lake of fire is, he says, "Who knows?" It will have to be somewhere clear out in space. He then offers black holes as a possibility, describing them as having no time, tremendous density, intense heat even in intense darkness, and a sensation of constantly falling. He stresses this is only a possibility, not a definite claim, but the lake of fire is eternal and without end.
