Les Feldick Bible Study

Will believers appear before the great white throne?

No. The great white throne is strictly for unbelievers and the lost. The dead of all ages will stand before God there in resurrected bodies, but believers are not included in that judgment. They will not come before the great white throne, because it is reserved for the lost.

Les explains that the great white throne is strictly for unbelievers, not for believers. He notes that lost people will be resurrected out of hell, and the dead of all ages, small and great, will stand before God in resurrected bodies. Their bodies will not be as glorious as believers' resurrected bodies, nor will they have believers' benefits; their resurrected bodies are fit for the lake of fire and will not be consumed. Les also points out that believers are now in their heavenly state, positioned according to their groups, and will not come before the great white throne. At that time the earth and heaven flee away, which he connects to Peter's epistle speaking of everything melting with fervent heat, leading to the new heaven and new earth in chapter 21.
