Is God invisible?

Yes. The triune God, the Godhead, is invisible and is Spirit. Yet at the appropriate time one member of the Godhead took on visibility. The Son became the image, or visible manifestation, of the invisible God, as Colossians 1:15 states. He is the visible expression of the invisible God.

Les teaches that God is invisible; the Spirit God, the triune God, the Godhead, is invisible because He is Spirit. But at the appropriate time, one member of the Godhead took on visibility. That member is God the Son, who became the image, or the visible manifestation, of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature. Les further explains that by God the Son all things were created, visible and invisible, whether thrones, dominions, principalities, or powers; all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, from eternity past, not just appearing at Bethlehem, and He holds all things together. He is also the head of the body, the Church.

Is the triune God invisible?

Les explains that the triune God is the Spirit, and He is invisible. The Son, however, is the visible image of the invisible God. Les ties this to Genesis 1, noting that by the Son all things were created in heaven and earth, visible and invisible, including thrones, dominions, principalities, and even Satan himself. All things were created by Him and for Him, and by Him all things consist, meaning they are held together. Les illustrates that the universe does not explode because God the Son controls every particle by the power of His Word.
