What is the work of the cross that Paul constantly repeats?

Paul constantly repeats the work of the cross: that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again from the dead. This is the central message of all his letters. It rests on God's demand that blood be shed for the soul that sinneth, and it is received by faith, for without faith it is impossible.

Les explains that Hebrews 9:22 declares, 'without the shedding of blood there is no remission,' and that is where the death of Christ comes in. He fulfilled God's demand that blood had to be shed for the soul that sinneth. Les calls Hebrews 9:22 and Hebrews 11:6 the unalterable attributes you cannot compromise: without faith it is impossible, and faith is believing, and He has rewarded them that diligently seek Him. Paul is constantly reminding us throughout all his letters and writings of this work of the cross: how Christ died for our sins, that He was buried, and that He arose again from the dead. In 1 Corinthians 1:17, Paul continues these highlight verses.
