How should believers view present sufferings relative to future glory?

Believers should reckon the sufferings of this present time as not worthy to be compared with the coming glory that will be revealed to them. Since they suffer with Christ, they will also be glorified together with Him; the future manifestation of God's children far outweighs present affliction.

Les teaches from Romans 8:17-19 that believers are joint heirs with Christ, and if they suffer with Him, they will also be glorified together with Him. Paul, who knew what it was to suffer, reckoned that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in or to us. Les explains that the earnest expectation of the creation waits for the manifestation of the sons or children of God. That manifestation occurs when believers come into the glorious kingdom rule with Him. Les defines manifestation in Scripture as being put in the spotlight, using the analogy of a microscope revealing living things in a drop of pond water that are otherwise unseen.
