How many people survive the Tribulation?
The biblical teaching indicates that during the Tribulation most people will lose their lives, but a few will survive to the end. Using the illustrative figure of a 5 million population and a 2 to 3 percent survival rate, roughly 100,000 to 150,000 people would remain.
Les explains that during the Tribulation most people will lose their lives, but when they come to the end, there will be a few left. He used a hypothetical figure: if the world's population were 5 million and 2 to 3 percent survived, only a small remnant would remain. Of those survivors, the believers—the sheep of Matthew 25—enter the Kingdom and become parents of the children seen in Isaiah 11. In that Kingdom there will be no death, sickness, curse, or Satan, and Christ will rule perfectly, causing a tremendous population explosion. Isaiah 11:9 says they will not hurt or destroy in all God's holy mountain, because the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as water covers the sea. Les notes that a mountain in the Old Testament often represents a kingdom, and there will be no death to speak of in His Kingdom. He then moves to Amos 9, noting many more references to this earthly Kingdom.
